The Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) hears appeals of decisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. More information on how to research in the area of workers’ compensation law is available on the Workers’ Compensation page. Other documents, including the Practice Directions, Medical Discussion Papers, Noteworthy Decisions and administrative reports are available on the WSIAT website.

Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO)

The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) has jurisdiction under the Human Rights Code of Ontario. Its mandate is broader than issues relating to just the workplace, and includes issues of discrimination in access to services, housing and so on. The HRTO website contains much valuable information on its rules, practice directions, and has useful guides to help in the processing of an appeal under the Tribunal’s new mandate (as of July 2008).
